S’Mores Hand Pies

First of all, I want to take a moment to say how saddened I am about the recent events in Las Vegas. I can’t imagine what everyone was going through in the moments of terror. Why does our world have to be so sad sometimes?

A few months ago, I got the itch to bake something simple, full of flavor aka CHOCOLATE and without destroying my kitchen. Who else loves to bake but hates the aftermath of flour everywhere?? After searching Pinterest, I found a recipe of s’mores pie pops which fit the bill for simple, full of flavor and minimal mess. I decided that I wanted them to be hand pies because I’m not a fan when a treat is supposed to be on a stick and it constantly falls off. I ran into this issue on my one and only attempt at cake pops. These could be perfect for a cool fall night and pairs well with a nice red wine.

A few tips:

I prefer dark chocolate but you can use milk chocolate if you like. I knew the mix of chocolate, marshmallows and pie crust would be very sweet which is why I chose dark chocolate.

I used mini marshmallows but I wish I used the regular sized ones. The smaller ones were more difficult to place inside the hand pie and it was harder to gauge how many marshmallows were the correct amount to achieve the flavor.

Don’t overfill the hand pie because the seal won’t stay as tight
