Houston Restaurant Week {Coppa Osteria}

Happy Wednesday y’all!

Houston Restaurant Week is one of my favorite times in Houston. You are able to check out a restaurant that has been on your must try list for a while or visit an old favorite. Most restaurants are offering a three or four course dinner for $35-$45 per person. Plus, for each dinner sold the restaurant will donate $5 or $7 to the Houston Food Bank. Last night Brandon and I went to Coppa Osteria in Rice Village. Once we walked in, I fell in love with the updated mid-century modern decor. Dark floors, simple wooden table and chairs, antique brass candle sticks on the tables, and white walls. Coppa Osteria is perfect for a date night, a birthday celebration, or a girl’s night to drink a glass or two of wine at the bar.

Now for the fun part, the FOOD and WINE! Since we were celebrating that we finally finished the moving process from our apartment into our new home in the middle of summer, a bottle of wine was in order.

For the first course, I got the burrata arancini, which is crispy risotto stuffed with burrata cheese. I meant to take a picture of it, but I was so hungry by the time the food came, I ate them immediately. Whoops!

The second course involved a very large, delicious meatball. The meatball was cooked so perfectly, that the fork glided through it. They reminded me of my grandma’s meatballs, but her’s are still the best!

The third course was hand’s down the best entrée I have eaten in a long time. Normally, Brandon and I will order different entrees so we can try each other’s. Well, last night was the exception to that rule because we both order the Lola’s pan roasted chicken with lemon caper butter and parmesan polenta pudding. How could one say no to parmesan polenta pudding??? I’m so happy I did not have to share my meal, because I was in heaven. I created the perfect bite, with a piece of chicken, then I added the parmesan polenta pudding, then some of the lemon caper butter. It was divine! Lucky for me, I was starting to get full but I knew I had dessert left so I had the rest of my plate boxed up and it will be my lunch today.

The final course of this food journey was dessert. The Long Island girl inside of me chose zeppoles. They were not the traditional zeppoles that come in a white paper bag, found at most pizza places in Long Island. These were fancy and came with melted chocolate to dunk the zeppoles in. Brandon chose the tiramisu and then poured the remaining chocolate lava on top of it. I’m not sure how we didn’t slip into a food coma after our meal.
