I spent this past weekend with my absolute best friend in the entire world, Stacey, in beautiful Sarasota, FL. Coming back to Houston was a little bit difficult because I got so used to the powder sand beaches, turquoise water, and the non-stop laughter when her and I are together.
I flew into Tampa, FL on Thursday night, where I met Stacey and her parents at the airport. After a quick bite in the Tampa Airport, we were off to Sarasota. I’ve known Stacey’s parents since I was in elementary school, and I so appreciate them opening up their condo for us to stay for the weekend.
Friday morning, we woke up to sunny skies and the need for Vitamin Sea. Stacey and I got our beach bags ready, then we were out the door to Siesta Key Beach. In case you didn’t know, Siesta Key Beach is the number one beach in the United States by TripAdvisor.
Seriously y’all, the beach was BEAUTIFUL! The water was so calm that you are able to relax instead of fearing that you will be swept away by a riptide.
After our beach day, we got ready to head to dinner at The Lobster Pot. Stacey and I split a lobster roll and mussels. The lobster roll was cooked perfectly, and wasn’t covered in mayonnaise or celery. I would highly recommend the lobster roll.
Once we finished dinner, we walked around Siesta Key and did a little shopping. I bought an adorable kitchen towel, which is pictured below.
Anyone else pissed that they aren’t a mermaid, or is it only me?
That was day one, check back tomorrow for part two.
