Yesterday during my lunch break I honestly had no idea what to do with myself. I brought my lunch, so I didn’t want to just sit at my desk for another hour when it was pretty outside but I also didn’t want to walk around Meyerland Plaza again since I did that the day before. I kept thinking that I needed something, not clothes or shoes but SOMETHING. I remembered that I saw a Barnes and Noble nearby my office, and then I knew that’s where I would go.
I honestly LOVE to walk around a bookstore. There are so many different paths you can take; you can chose a sappy Nicholas Spark book, a suspenseful thriller like Gone Girl, or find a memoir that speaks directly to your soul. My journey took me to a memoir that spoke to my soul. Last week as I was reading my daily blogs, Mix and Match Mama and Pinterest Told Me To, they talked about a new book that came out named Nobody’s Cuter Than You. In reading their reviews, I knew it was a book that I needed to read. I saw it in the store and without a second thought, I purchased it. Then I sat in my car, read a few pages and was instantly hooked.
I couldn’t wait to read more when I got home from work, but then I remembered I had a yoga class. So after class, I put my glasses on, and read my book as my boyfriend and Rachel watched the Houston Rockets game. I couldn’t help it, I wanted to read more. I had to force myself to put it down as the time inched closer to midnight. I will probably finish the book tonight or by Friday.
The author of Nobody’s Cuter Than You and lady behind, Big Mama blog, Melanie Shankle, reminded me of my friendship with my best friend, Stacey, of 25 years and how incredibly blessed I am to have her in my life today, in my past, and for the next 25+ years. We first met in the 1st grade, but we hated each other, to this day I’m not really sure why. Then two years later all of that changed, and became my person. Stacey has been my biggest cheerleader, my source of comic relief, my fashion guru and so much more. I would not be who I am today if she was not in my life.
With that being said, go out and by this book for yourself, for your girlfriend to show her how much you care, or for a Mother’s Day gift. You will not be disappointed.
Thanks for stopping by!
