I didn’t mean to take as long of a blogging break, but I needed some time to get back to my new reality. To keep this short, my grandfather passed away on April 6th. My grandfather, was one of the most amazing men in my life. He taught me so much in my 31 years; life lessons that I will never forget.
What helped me get through an extremely difficult time, was the unconditional love that my family shares, TONS of thoughtful messages from friends that are like family, and being able to hold my nephew for the first time. I have decided that baby snuggles are good for the soul.
On Monday, I finally had my birthday sushi date with my friend, Rachel (her birthday is a week before mine, so we had a joint birthday dinner). We went to Blue Fish at the Bayou Center. For months, I have been craving an ahi tuna tower, but I have not had any luck finding one in Houston, except for Blue Fish. It doesn’t compare to the ahi tuna tower at Fin, which is in Plano, but it fulfilled the craving.
I fell back into my normal routine yesterday, work, hot yoga and then a trip to the grocery store. After taking a week off of yoga I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the class or the heat would get to me, but I was totally wrong. I had the best practice I’ve had in weeks; it might have been my new Lululemon top that my bestie got me for my birthday. (Thanks again, Stace!).
I have some great things planned for my Friday Five, so be on the lookout! I hope everyone had a great week!
