Monday Must Haves – Jewelry Edition

I have to say, I’m obsessed with jewelry, always have been, always will be.  I love how a statement necklace or a pair of earrings can change refresh an outfit you have worn a ton of times or help transition from fall to spring.

This necklace will be an easy staple for work and weekend wear.

Kendra Scott: Rayne Necklace, other colors here

gold-base

Own this and I LOVE it! I probably wear it a few times a week with tee shirts, or this top (almost sold out), or with dresses. It also comes in silver and rose gold.

Stella & Dot: Rebel Pendant

aqua-base
Own them and LOVE them! A pair of simple studs are so easy for spring and summer. I like wearing mine with my chambray top or anytime I want a pop of color without making a loud statement.

Stella & Dot: Janice Studs

gold-base

The Long Island girl in me loves gold hoops. They go with EVERYTHING! I own these as well and LOVE them! They transition well between work to happy hour and all seasons.

Stella & Dot: Orbit Hoops

Monogram necklace - 1.25 inch Personalized Monogram - 925 Sterling silver 18k Gold Plated

The Southern girl in me wants to monogram everything; pillows, shorts, sweatshirts, koozies, iPhone cases, and the list goes on. I love to gift monogram pieces to my friends for birthdays, anniversaries or a wedding gift. I love the personal touch they provide. I have the above monogram and love to wear it when I am pairing it with a statement earring, like these. Turquoise and monograms, can  I be anymore southern?

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Friday Five

It’s FINALLY Friday!

1. Finishing Up a Pre-Summer Read

This book is hysterical, opens your eyes to what goes on at Bravo and makes you wish you could grab drinks with Andy after Watch What Happens Live.

2. Oysters at dinner last night to celebrate our friend’s birthday

Oysters - Liberty Kitchen

We went to Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar last night in the Heights; the food and drinks were incredible. I enjoyed a spicy tequila martini, shared oysters and stuffed redfish with my boyfriend. After we left, we were planning our next trip back and what we would order.

3. Impromptu Stoney La Rue Concert

On Thursday night our friend invited us to see Stoney LaRue perform at Pub Ficition, which is close to my apartment, so of course we said yes.

4. Jalapeno Infused Tequila

Jalapeno Infused Tequila | The Marvelous Misadventures of a Foodie

It is almost summer time and instead of having sweet and sour margaritas poolside, I want to give a spicy margarita a try. I’m going to infuse some tequila on Saturday, so I can enjoy a spicy margarita while I finish watching season 3 of House of Cards. A spicy margarita recipe will be posted next week.

5. New Gold iPhone 6

iPhone 6 Gold!!!!!!!!! I want it so bad! (Hint hint mom)

My iPhone 5 has seen better days and was running out of space which we all know is important when one is starting a blog. It was necessary for me to upgrade to a larger iPhone.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone for all of their support and encouragement after my blog became Facebook official! It made this whole process less nerve wracking when I know i have people out there who want to read my little blog.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Wednesday Wishlist

Birthday Wishlist

1.//2.//3.//4.//5.//6.

Since it is almost my birthday, I thought I would share a few of my favorite items in case my friends or family reads this (Hi Mom and Dad). I am all about easy, flowy clothes for the Spring and Summer, that can easily transition from day to night. I desperately need a pair of neutral wedges to dress up shorts and to wear with dress that are comfortable, no one wants to wear uncomfortable shoes. White jeans are a MUST to wear with my chambray top or hopefully this top.
What are some items you would have on your birthday wishlist?
Thanks for stopping by!

Weekend & Monday Recap

Good Morning!

Saturday I woke up late, then I went to an hour and a half yoga class. It was ok, but it has been confirmed that I LOVE hot yoga more than any other type of yoga right now. When I left class, it was POURING! Due to the weather, I stayed home after and enjoyed the peace and quiet, while day dreaming about my dinner at Chuy’s. Dinner was so good, we both left stuffed but oh so happy.

Sunday I ventured out to the Houston Galleria to exchange out my Nars lipstick, (I ended up with this one). I love the red/orange color for the summer. My friend, Ashley who moved to Houston a few months ago reminded me that it was Lancome Gift with Purchase and she knows how much I LOVE gifts, so I HAD to buy the Lancome Oscillation PowerboosterIt is primer that lengthens my lashes before I put my mascara on, it is seriously the best and worth the price.

Choose your free Lancôme gift with your $39.50 Lancôme purchase. Valued up to $125. Get a bonus gift when you spend $70 on Lancôme.

Go to your closest Nordstom or order online, so you can get fun little goodies and LONG lashes, you will thank me later.

The weather was PERFECT in Houston yesterday, it was the typical Spring day which begged you to be outside. When I got home from work my boyfriend was already in his sneakers and asked if I wanted to go for a walk, of course I said yes. I put my shoes on and we ventured out for what I thought would be a short walk, but we were out for over 2 hours. We walked through our neighborhood, looked at houses, talked and talked and talked some more, then we made it to the Buffalo Bayou Park and realized we were right by the dog park on National Puppy Day. We do not have a dog, but we went to the dog park anyway and watched the dogs play for a while. Last night was one of the best nights and neither of us wanted it to end. It was great to get out of the apartment and see what else is out there. We are both guilty of coming home, and plopping on the couch and not getting up for a while, but if the weather stays like this for a while, I don’t see many TV nights in our future.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but there was a lot to recap. What are some of your favorite weekend activities?

Happy Tuesday!

Xo, Heather

Friday Five

1. New Kendra Scott Earrings from Nordstrom

Kendra Scott: ‘Sky Spear’

For some reason I have been on a MAJOR jewelry kick; I bought these beauties 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t help it they were on sale! P.S. They are still on sale for under $35!

2. Catching up on Pretty Little Liars this weekend. #whoisA

I watched Tuesday night’s episode, but I have not watched the 2 before that, so I have some catching up to do. Since it’s supposed to rain ALL weekend, I should finish Season 6 of Parenthood as well. Why not!?!

3. Yoga Weekend

Yes, I am well aware that I talk about yoga a lot, but I can’t help it.

4. Dreaming about Chuy’s Tex-Mex for Saturday Date Night

How can you not love how colorful this place is? I haven’t had it since I moved from Dallas over a year ago and after talking to my bestie, she made me crave it since Monday. (Thanks, Stace!)

5. Happy First Day of Spring!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a happy first day of Spring!
